obsession: target commercials

I don't know who Target is paying to come up with these, but I hope they don't fire them anytime soon. This commercial is my absolute favorite:

oh jimmy

big day

Today is going to be HUGE! I need to make sure that I am out of the office by 3:30 PM in order to make it home for Oprah's last episode EVER! Can you believe it? What is even better, is that Ellen is taking over her time slot! Double whammy!

Then don't forget that tonight will be the results for American Idol. Lauren Alaina has got this in the bag! Or at least I hope so. She sang a song last night and yes I started crying - whatever...I'm an emotional woman. Did you expect something different?

only 5 days away

UNTIL CABIN TIME! It has been slowly approaching but it is almost here. This is what I love about being from Minnesota...the winters are so horrible that you appreciate the weekends up north during the summer! There is just something about fresh air and laying on the dock relaxing.

salsa...yes please.

Yesterday was a productive one for me! Along with a nice massage, I starting planting my salsa garden. I did one last year and realized I needed to up my game this year! I've got 6 tomato plants, 2 jalapenos, 2 poblano peppers, 1 red pepper, and lots of herbs.

another year..

It's my birthday!

I stopped drinking two weeks ago and have been waiting in anticipation for our birthday party this weekend to have my first sip of that wonderful little thing called wine. In addition to my chardonnay, I always go to Lion's Tap for dinner. If you haven't been there before, you are seriously missing out! They have the best burgers in MN...and I don't care if you love the 5-8 club or Matt's juicy lucys. They can't even compare to the greatness that is Lion's Tap.  I've been going to there since I was bottle fed and have been trying to get them on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for the past three years (with no luck). I encourage you to all email the show and get them on it! They deserve it!

my cutie pie niece

Avery learned "The Mother's Day Song" and Bri & Bryan caught it on tape! She is pretty much the cutest thing ever.

pom poms

This past weekend I got together with my ol' high school buddy Jennie. She is my go-to-girl for craft projects, color combinations and any other ideas I need for the wedding. Trying to be the thrifty bride that I am, I want to make some decorations for the church without spending a ton of money on flowers. Of course they will be flowers of some kind there, but I absolutely dislike the normal bows that people attach at the end of the church pews. So what other alternatives are there? THE POMANDER! Or pom poms as I call them.

They are styrofoam balls with flowers attached hung by a ribbon. Rather than using real flowers (cha-ching...can't you hear the sounds of a cash register?) we used tissue paper. Both of us were really skeptical if it would look tacky or cheap, but it turned out great. The process of making them is definitely a labor of love, but I have plenty of time to prepare. I'm a planner. I don't like to be rushed and I am glad I can take my time with these.

Here are a few pics (the pom pom is not totally complete yet. I still need to add a ribbon to hang it, but you should get the idea).

Here is one of the tissue paper flowers

most of the pom pom..

it has about 30 flowers in it right now

wine & peanut butter

I am enjoying my typical Tuesday night watching Glee, when all of a sudden, the weather man pops onto my TV screen and interrupts the last 5 minutes of my show. Nevermind the fact that we were just about to find out if the Jock (who was name homecoming king) was going to dance with Kurt (who was named homecoming queen). Was he going to come out of the closet? I guess I will never know unless I google it - which I will be doing right after I write this post.

This leads me to the wine and peanut butter reference. I get a call from my mother - or Denni as I affectionately call her.

Denni: "Molly! There are sirens going off, so Manny (my mom's cockapoo) are in the basement! What is the news saying?"

Me: "Mom, why don't you turn on the TV downstairs and watch?"

Denni: "Because there are so many remotes I don't know which buttons to press."

Me: "Well I'm pissed at the weatherman because he interrupted Glee."

Denni: "I know! I want to know if the jock was going to come out of the closet!"

Me: "They are saying that there could be tornados and you should stay in the basement. You might want to run upstairs and grab some water or a flashlight."

Denni: "Don't worry. I have wine and peanut butter."

For some reason - this didn't surprise me.

Don't you just hate it when your dog won't go to the bathroom outside in the morning because there is a thunderstorm? Lily was not having it this morning.

obsession: trader joe's

Today I'll be visiting one of my favorite locations - Trader Joe's. I have emailed the company a million times and asked them to open up a store in Prior Lake...or at least a little closer to me! Don't they know that wine is like water to me? Either way, I'm heading there today to stock up on my favorite wine (Blue Fin Chardonnay), pizza dough, basil and fresh mozzarella. Those are the many staples I stock up on when I visit. I highly suggest taking a trip there if you haven't been lately - it's a classy place.

who moved my cheese?

I know what you are thinking...what the hell is she talking about? As many of you already know, I do have an extraordinary love for cheese but why is am writing about it? Although I could write 15 pages about my love for cheese, I actually just read a new book called, "Who Moved My Cheese?" Once again, you are probably wondering why I am reading in the first place since I average about one book every three years....but it had big font and was less than 100 pages.

It was the #1 best selling book on change! One of my biggest faults, is that I absolutely hate change. I have my routine and I follow it every single day. While some might find that boring and monotonous, I find it comforting. In addition, I have been in a rut and really discourage with certain work issues...so I'm willing to get motivation any way I can.

This book is literally about two mice and two "littlepeople" chasing after cheese in a maze. WAIT! Before you stop reading this, while the book really does seem ridiculous, you need to look behind the meaning of it all. To summarize, you should always be adapting to your situations and expect the unexpected. When you sit in the same spot everyday of your entire life, don't be surprised when you are the last one there because everyone else has moved on to bigger and better things. Below are a few bullet points to be aware of - and I hope you all never stop looking for your new cheese in life.

Change Happens
  - They Keep Moving The Cheese

Anticipate Change
  - Get Ready For The Cheese To Move

Monitor Change
  - Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old

  - The Quicker You Let Go Of Old Cheese, The Sooner You Can Enjoy New Cheese

Change
  - Move With The Cheese

  - Savor The Adventure And Enjoy The Taste Of New Cheese!

Be Ready To Change Quickly And Enjoy It Again

hashmark (#) what??

All aboard on the social media bandwagon! I originally started this blog to keep track of my bucket list. I still recommend that everyone should create a bucket list at some point in their lives. Then I revamped the blog to mainly learn more about social media - something that really interests me. I started a to blog more diligently (or at least more than what I did before) and created a Twitter page. I'm still learning the correct ways to "twat" (as Chelsea Handler would call it) and came across this article about the hashmarks (#). Now, if you are as confused as me, you would have no idea what this even means. But it should help clarify things a little.

I found this article and it should help explain!
